Schedule:

Course duration: 15 months

  • Students have 12 months to complete the course content and compile the required Portfolio of Evidence (PoE).
  • A further 3months are allocated for examination registration and final examination preparation.
  • The projected date for the final assessment is March 2028, subject to final confirmation by the QCTO.

Admission requirements:

Minimum qualification: Matric/Grade 12 or an equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.

Language requirement: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English at Grade 12 level.

Examinations:

Final Formal Summative Assessment (FFSA)

  • Students must complete the FFSA before they may be registered for the External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA).
  • The FFSA is a compulsory internal examination that acts as an entry requirement for the EISA. Students must achieve the minimum pass requirement prescribed by the programme before being admitted to EISA.
  • This examination is completed under invigilation via the Invigilator app. It is marked by the lecturer, and feedback is provided to the student.
  • Students complete this examination once the workplace experience component has been successfully completed and approved.

External Integrated Summative Assessment (EISA)

  • The EISA is the final external assessment for this qualification. It is conducted at a QCTO-accredited assessment centre and assesses both theoretical knowledge and practical application.
  • The assessment is written under formal examination conditions and is open book, meaning approved learning resources may be consulted during the assessment.
  • The assessment duration is five (5) hours in total.

To be eligible for the EISA, students must:

  • Successfully complete all the required knowledge and practical modules.
  • Provide evidence of completed workplace experience requirements.
  • Successfully complete the internal FFSA requirement.

Mode of delivery

  • Compulsory live online classes facilitated by a lecturer.
  • Access to an online learning platform (Moodle) with structured academic support.
  • Access credentials are provided upon registration.

Class schedule and support

  • Classes take place three times per week.
  • Classes are mainly presented in the evening, with one live Saturday-morning session to support students with weekday commitments.
  • The detailed timetable, including class days and times, is shared during student orientation.
  • Students should plan for approximately 17 hours of additional study per week, depending on prior knowledge and assessment workload.

Workplace requirement

Students must complete the compulsory workplace experience component as part of this programme. This includes a minimum of 360 hours of relevant workplace experience.
