Merchandisers are responsible for merchandise strategies and marketing trends for retail stores.  They analyse sales trends and work with customers to plan to fulfill merchandise orders.  They can negotiate with customers with regards to product, price, quantities, and delivery.  They can help set up shelf or promotional displays and help manage retail store inventory.  They must build secure working relationships with suppliers, distributors, as well as retail store staff to ensure efficient flow of both products and information.
